Jay Kos Window Display

Jay Kos’ luxury menswear boutique is nestled in Greenwich Village and in December of 2018, commissioned the artist for a holiday display rooted in a winter jungle theme.

The display itself covers three windows, each with a different expression of the theme using a variety of methods, paper cuts, vinyl, and sculpture.

All designs were handmade and personally designed: the main window boasts a whopping 400 hand-cut leaves, and two supporting hand-cut gorilla guardians. The secondary window display, created in partnership with Heirloom shoes, edges into arctic territory with a hand-cut vinyl background and a central snow leopard.

The last and smallest window display focuses on the fashion designer’s boot of choice: a cherry red leather cowboy, floating in space and flanked by spiraling vinyl vines.

All designs, preparations and artwork created by Dominyka Obelenyte. Vinyl hand-cut and applied by Michael Santalla.
